PH too high

I'm kind of confused as normally the PH is supposed to be too low in a saltwater tank which then means you need to add a buffer. I'm having the opposite problem, my PH is too high at 8.8. Alk is at 3.5 meq/L.

Alk too high? I've done two seperate water changes trying to get the ph lower. both of which were probably 20%........RODI water / Instant Ocean salt

Double check your test kit against the "sample marine Ph tester", other than that not sure...what is in your tank ie. What kind of substrate and any LR etc...?

Sounds strange because your alkalinity isnt abnormally high, and usually ph and alkalinity go together, i would also test with a different kit.

I would let it sit, and see what happens. The natural drift of pH in most aquaria is down. Tell us what it is after two or three days...
