I think its safe to say we are all very happy you gave the fish a good home, and I would also like to hear more about your new tank setup, I see you have a 280 emperor what else do have going on ?

When Marilyn and I purchased our first two tanks 15 or 17 years ago we had them equipped with penguin filters three 300's and one 160 and in that time we never had a problem with any of them, then Aqueon had a filter exchange and because of the age of our filters I took them in and exchanged them for new Aqueons, big mistake I used them about three months and then ordered all new Emperors four 400's and four 280's. I think the Emperors are the best HOB filters ever, I take full advantage of the carbon baskets filling them with Matrix Media and then cover the Media with blue filter fiber, I run my cartridges for 2 months and have never had one clog up in a 400, the 280 is a bit harder because they try to push almost 300 gallons thru one cartridge, But it's worth the effort they do a great job, Best HOB filter for the buck. IMO
