k... here are some pics

and heres the hideous fish room.... (next post)
havent been able to find time to clean it up.. most of the tanks are empty... the only tanks i have with fish in them are... 48,55,2 20s, and a 10... there is also a 10g with about an inch of water in it... i couldnt get the kuhli loaches to come out from the gravel so i let them stay in there until i find a new spot for it and some fish to put in there with them

umm.... the parrots change color as they grow do they not?.. one of them is starting to get lots of red/orange around his face as you can kinda see in the pics..

they are only about an inch long so they still have a ways to go... but im almost positive that they get their red color later in life

BP's are a cross between 3 SA fish - the jury is out on exact names - but probably Midas, Severum etc - all SA

Texas is CA - close enough

BP's are complete tarts and will breed with anything that swims - my female BP lays eggs and she's in with a male Oscar

The fertility rate is low with BP's - more a problem with infertile males - but as the years pass the strain is getting stronger, with more reports of successfull breeding coming in (BP+BP=BP)

So - the buggers will breed with anything - and although successfull hatching is rare - it's getting more frequent with time

BP's have their colour from the start - it gets stronger as they age - but it's always showing. (The dyed ones apparently loose their colour over time)

I hear what you're saying - but I checked this out with the "experts" - apparently there's nothing to stop my BP and my Oscar being successfull - so I can't see it being a problem for a BP and a Texas either

They're all "Cichlids"
