Got a new camera and am still learning how to use it. These were taken with the fish macro. I think they will turn out better when I get a tripod.

The camera is an Olympus SP-56OUZ. It has 3 different underwater macros and 18X digital zoom. I can read the news paper through my neighbors windows across the street.

Bunker you have to take a lot of pictures. The better the camera the less pictures you have to take. But even with a good camera you might get one good shot out of ten pictures. It helps if your subject holds still, and even more if you can hold still. Digital cameras are pretty sensitive to movement. My camera has an image stabilization function but it only helps so much on close up shots. That's why I'm getting a tripod for it.

Yeah, people don't realize that you got that one great picture after taking 20 crappy shots! Tripods definitely help, although most of the time I am too lazy to get mine out. It also depends on the fish too, I've found it near impossible to get clear pics of fast movers like guppies. Luckily for me, my crays and shrimp don't move too fast!

Nice pics!
That whip tail is something I've never really come across before...looks like a neat fish---very camouflaged against that piece of driftwood.
Speaking of driftwood---is it an absolute necessity for L114?

Man I'm home all day. Gotta get some entertainment somehow. :p

No not at all BV.

These I just took useing the close up macro. There's 2 macros, close up, and super close up. I can't use the super cause it won;t allow you to use the flash, and well pics of plecos hiding in the dark requires a flash.

These are better than the last ones but I still think they will get better with a tripod.

and one of the new L254s

BV I'm still trying to get you a pic, he won't come out from behind the driftwood dish.

For a larger plec but not a huge one, look at L200, L128, L114, L204, LDA33, L117, L031...actually PCF has a way of sorting their species by size. Here these are all under 10 inches. PlanetCatfish • Cat-eLog • Catfish Sizes

For a pleco your only interested in the links that are labeled Loricariidae.

If you want smaller find a profile for a species that is the size you want. Next to their size listing you will see a link for like sized species.

That's ^^^ him though, right?
Same fish in the pic you sent via PM?

Hehe, he'll come out eventually, I'm sure.
Hopefully by the time I move down there, eh?! :p

How does he compare size-wise with the one I sent you?

Yeah, that's just a better pic. It's hard to get that shot because the angle of the shot is looking up under a overhang on a massive piece of drift wood. The camera pics up a lot of flashback off of the glass giving off that white glaze.

He is about 1 1/2 times the length of the one you sent me. And should be even larger by December.

That's excellent---fatten him up for me, will ya'? ;)
And sorry to sort of hijack the thread on you here---I should probably start my own update type thread on the plans I've got coming up with my tank stuff...

Great pics...I look forward to seeing more! *thumbsup2

Naa, not hijacked. I told you to look for pics. :p I'm going to starve them today and tomorrow in hopes that some fresh prawn will draw him out of that wood. If I can catch him out, I'm going to pull the wood and block that off. I hate having anything they can get into that I can't get them out of.
