This is my 75 gal with a Fluval 404 and under gravel.  I have granet rock and plastic plants (temted to try real soon).  I have 18 red peacocks and 8 frontosas, 1 clown loach (I know I need more to keep him company) 2 kohli loaches and a pleco.  Nothing special for lighting, just 2, 18" long under cabinet style 2 bulb florecent lights.

The one thing that is keeping me from putting live plants in is I have a ugf.  The though of tearing that out sound like a pain.

Pretty nice tank. About the ug filter, just disconnect it and leave it in place. I had the same problem in my 90G so I just left the ug in place and maybe in the future I will use it as a reverse ug. As long as the gravel is deep enough on top of the ug, it should not be a problem.

I'm thinking of switching mine to a reverse flow ug.  From what I've been reading, this has alot of upside such as keeping the gravel clean but it still uses the gravel as a bio filter.  Has anyone else done this to give it a  *thumbsup2*or *thumbsdown2*.  Will this still cause problems with plants.  Would the cichlids miss the current?

Thanks
