pictus catfish??

I just got a 10 gallon tank and was interested in putting a pictus catfish in it along with 3 tiger barbs. I have no idea on how to set up my tank or even if it will be big enough and every pet store ive been to has told me a new story, let me know asap!

The pictus will be unhappy by himself and will get to big for a ten gallon tank. They can get up to nearly a foot in a perfect world, and will eat any smaller fish that will fit in their mouths. They are not overly aggressive, but when opportunity knocks, they answer.

My only word of advice in regards to Pictus....avoid using nets on them at all costs! Their fins get caught in the nets making it almost impossible (and them very uncomfortable) to get out :-(

Pictus get to be 6" long - in no way suitable for a 10g tank at all. 29g minimum.

For one..a pictus catfish wont get above 6 inches unlessy your water quality is supurb for a pictus catfish. And two make sure you get a brine shrimp net to handle them.
