Im going to order a pike of the 125g thats coming in a couple of days.  Ive never kept one before.  Anybody here have one or have kept them in the past?  Id like to get some more info on them.  The one that seems to be my choice is the Crenicichla Johanna or the Crenicichla Lugubris.

A pike, wow. Double wow. That is one hell of a big fish. Even in 125 gallon tank, a pike, wow. Alls I know is that they're kinda like gars in that they grow very big, live very long, and are very very predatious and nasty (so watch your fingers). I've had juvinales in the pet shop before, and boy did they suck down rosies. Great for population control if your cichlids breed like rabbits<G>. Good luck with it.

From what ive read the Crenicichla Johanna only get like 1.5-2ft max.  So I think he would do fine in the 125.  But I agree, any bigger and it would be way to small.  Im going to put it in with 2 oscars and a green terror, I thought they would all hold their own in the tank.  So you think they are a good fish?  Do you know anything else about them?
