it looks as tho my pike has HITH, but it looks as tho he is self inflicting the wounds, like i will see him smash his head into a peice of drift wood

he has more than just one hole, his whole face/head has em should i remove him and put em in a 10 gallon med tank, or what? he is prob a good 7" long and a 10 gallon is the only other tank i could stick em in from the 120 he is in right now with a oscar, jack dempsy, small clown knife, and pictus

so adding meds to the tank he is in now is somthing i would rather avoid

i just did a "large" water change with out testing before hand so i duno if it really is HITH or not, yeah smart me huh

How long has he had them, what do you fed him, how often water changes.

My experience of pikes is limited to one. Hiwever they are from usually quite to very soft and acid water which have quite low bacterial numbers. Thus they seem to be quite frail to infections if water quality is not so good. I would think about doing a series of large water changes like 10 or 20 % twice a week every week until things improved, and then keep on doing that

Fantastic!

Not a pike pike by the way FishFriend, a pike cichlid, so named because of the similarity, however I have seen people keep pikes from british rivers and they are very nice.
