Howdy folks, I recently upgraded from a 30L tank to a 100L tank, I have 2 bronze corys, 3 neon tetras, 5 glow light tetras, 1 tiger plec and 2 golden mollies. Looking for interesting fish with a bit of personality, so what would you suggest to liven the tank up a bit?!

My camera is out of action at the mo so cant post pics.

The tank is a metre wide, I've a dark sand in the bottom. There is a small bit of bogoak, a rock and 3 small plants. I'm hoping to get more plants tomorrow, not too worried bout them as I know what I'm after there.

Looking for inspiration for fish to stock it with. I'd like ones that are compatible with the ones I have (glow lights, neons, tiger plec, bronze corys and golden mollies), looking for interesting fish with personality. Any ideas?

Thanks for the replies folks, I got 4 more neons, 2 more corys to make up the numbers of each in the tank already. They didn't have a huge selection in the shop today so I got 4 guppies (girlfriends choice!) as well. Everything else is settling in well but the guppies are just swimming up at the surface of the tank in a corner. Any ideas about them?

There's still load of room in the tank so I'm still looking for ideas of what to stock so keep them coming!

I measured the dimensions earlier and put them into the aqadvisor calculator and it says its actually a 150L tank!

Here's a pic.

All the tetra's are hiding in the corner down behind the bogwood.

From the photo you'd think there are more plants in the tank than there are - good background.

What do you think?

I like how i force ppl to upload pics... "DOO ITT....DO IT!!!!" :p

nice tank man. but where are the Fishesss!!! lolz. yea they hiding eh, next time, have some patience and put out the room lights ,make room dark and keep tank lights On. then when the fishes are totally unaware , JUMP LOUDLY in front of them and Flash a pic. *crazysmil ok me being crazy , just snap pic quietly when they are out. practise :D.

so is it my eyes or the gravel/substrate is sloped down from from left to right? beware , many ppl crack bottoms due to uneven load of sand/gravel/substrate on the bottom, some ppl get lucky and nothing happens.

No idea what fish to add now. i would suggest you add slowly. let the new fish assimilate and let the plants grow, will give you idea .

Cheers for the advice. The tank was second hand so had the old gravel on one side to hep with bacteria but didnt like it so covered it with the darker gravel to hide it.

Just out of curiosity - the tank is unsupported in the middle, just 2 bars at the sides support it there but the glass is taking the full weight of the tank in the middle. I thought bout putting a plank under it to support it but the previous owner said there was no need. What do you think?

I've a liquid test kit, I did a test yesterday, all was perfect.

He seemed to go through phases of being sick but always perked up after an hour or 2. Hopefully the rest will be ok.

I'm horrible at conversions...a 150L tank is...40gals (approximately)? Wow, you do have a lot of space.

I would go with a pair of Bolivian Butterfly rams or German Blue (or Gold) rams if you can find them. Bolivian Butterflies are hardier and easier to care for, but the German blues and golds are really pretty. I'd add a rock cave or more driftwood if you do the rams, though.

Cheers for the advice bassbone diva, was in a fish shop today having a look. They were pretty low on stock but think I'll head back on sat when they get a restock.

Thinking bout putting a couple of ottos in as well to keep the place neat and tidy. Would the rams get on ok with the tetra and guppies?
