Piranas regurtating

2 days ago i gave my piranas some deer meat(one of their favorite treats), and last night i found it on the bottom of the tank. Why would they barf up a meal 2 days later? Are there any diseases where this behavior is present? I gave them a pretty big load of it,would they respond like this due to overfeeding? Any info will be helpful.

Scubadude: From what I remember from some of my bio class, (this could be wrong but IDK) That fish can not regurtate food after it has entered their stomach. They can if its just in their mouth and they spit it out. The meat probably passed right through them and could not get digested. Something doesnt sound right I'm not sure. Maybe you feed them to much and that was just the left over that they did not eat. The meat would have be digested in their stomach so it probalby wouldnt look like meat.

I watched them eat it. It must have passed right through them because the meat didn't appear for a couple of days. I don't understand, they love the stuff and i haven't had a problem with the meat reappearing like this before. Also the meat was still in large chunks! I don't see how their but could strech that far to pass it...OUCH!

Bummer!! i would love to have one. I think they are so cool.
I hear that they are the most parinoid fish there is.

Yes, they are very prone to fright responses. They make me paranoid when my arm is in the tank.
