My wife and I are planning what we will add to our tank. We lost a bunch of fish to disease about 6 months ago and have had 7 neons since then. It is a 29 gallon fish tank with live plants, not particuraly heavily planted now, but will be more heavily planted as time goes by.

We would like to add some more neons for a total of maybe 12-15. 4-5 Otocinclus, 3 platies and 4-5 pygmy cories. This list is ordered by how much we want each fish.

Would this overcrowd the tank? We really like having healthy & happy fish, so we don't want to overcrowd them.

Would these fish get along and look good together in your opinion? Is there something you would suggest adding or taking out? I want to think about these things now so I am not bummed later.

Is there a problem with adding noens to our existing neon school?

I am currently using an Emperor 280 filter, but will most likly replace it with a canister filter(filstar XP2 heads the list) as I add more plants.

Your fish list sounds fine, although I would leave out the platies. If you decide to go heavily planted, you may want to change filters because the bio-wheel filters drive alot of the carbon dioxide out of the water. If you dont go heavily planted, keep the bio-wheel filter, IMO they are the best filter for a non heavily planted tank.
