I've never done live plants before, but this is what i'm wondering:

I just bought a 1 gallon undergravel filtration tank for a betta I had bought, and had a crazy idea that I could make it into a "betta throneroom," and have live plants in that one gallon tank with the betta, or moss, or driftwood, and make it a nice little betta underwater biological reserve?

So, the first thing I was wondering, would be, Is this possible?  Would this be something that is feasible?

Assuming that is true,
what plants would you recommend?  what plants would grow the best in that small enviornment?  Would moss be okay?

I'm sorry if this question seems dumb, but, if it could work, and you could offer me your opinions, I would be most appreciative!

Thank you so much!

Well, i found a reallly nice looking plastic plant that looks surprising realistic, that is a good size, because, this 1 gal doesn't have a light, so plants dont grow so well without light, I guess...

but i'm still open to tank suggestions, how to spruce up this 1 galloner so it is fit for the betta!  Thank you so much!

I've done planted 2.5 gals with crytocorynes and a little peice of driftwood for my bettas. they turned out nice and the bettas loved their little "castles".

Small crypts would work, as would hornwort, but the hornwort "could" take over as it grows like a weed.

An anubias barteri Var Nana tied to the drift would also work, as would a small Java Fern.  All those plants do OK with lower light levels, and are worth a try.

have fun with this, and remember, less is more in a tank that size.

I have both a cryptocorne and a dwarf sagitaria in my 3 gallon eclipse, it has a fluorescent light so it makes keeping the plants alive easy and my betta looks quite handsome under it.   *thumbsupsmiley*
