I have seen planted tanks with convicts. How do people accomplish these? I am very interested in knowing since I thought it was unrecomended for it to be planted. And the tanks I seen were 10g's!
I'd say it's either pure dumb luck, or carefull planning. Never hurts to try if your willing to fail.
Like in my 75 gallon, my cichlids in there have just about torn though any plant that's went in with them except Java Fern. So in this tank it was a little trail and error and dumb luck.

Also, one thing you could do is keep part of each plant in another tank or container and let them grow. That way you won't have complete losses on your hands if the convicts do happen to wreck all the plants in their tank.
Well what Im planning is to turn my 31g rubbermaid container into a plant holding facility. If in case it doesnt work out I can sell them/give them to my friend or capitol aqaurium!
