Well, I came into work this morning to find one of my beloved Platies dead! He was fine a few days ago and now he is dead. What could of caused this? Why?
Sorry about your loss. There are a number of things that could have caused this. What are your water parameters? I am assuming that there were no signs of anything?
Have you tested the water recently?
Could it have been a tank mate?
Was the water cold?
Do you perform the necessary water changes?
Was all equipment working properly?
There are a lot of factors to consider. More information would help people to make an educational guess.
Thanks. I would of thought it would of been Fernando, (Betta), too, but he is actually non-aggressive. Yes, I just changed the water on Friday and all of the equipment is working properly. The water levels are fine also. Poor little dude!
It might not have been the Betta (Im not saying that it wasnt), it could have been an internal parasite. But I dont think that your other fish can get it. Some one else might have better info.
How old was it? if it was a few years old then thats why it died...due to old age. But usually if there is no signs its internal parasite or just a bad batch of fish, i see this all the time, bad suppliers out breeding fish, and they come in very un-healthy
