Platies nipping!

One of my platies has been shodowing another, (male shadowing female). Thefemale yesterday had a damaged fin that looked nipped. I separated him and left him in the net at the top of the tank. Dont know what to do with him!
Missus thought it wasnt right keeping him sepatated and put him back with the rest. Will it be okay??

How many platies do you have? What size tank? other fish? It wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on them to see if the nipping continues and if it seems at all serious. A little fin nipping can occur from time to time, though, it may end up not being problematic.
