plattys what are they doing

I have dozen platty adults in a 72 ltre tank two were twirling around in a circular motion were they fighting/ breeding / playing as I tryed to seperate them &they just would/nt stop did/nt want to upset them if they were breeding or playing can/t tell what sex to hard

It's quite easy to tell the different sexes when you know what to look for, it's all in the anal fin:

If you can work out which are males and females in the activity it'll be easier to tell.
