Hi! I have 2 Orange Platy fish 1 a male and 1 a female. But the male platy doesn't seem like he is intrested in the female. He doesn't want to mate with her. What could be the problem and how can i breed with them???
you have to usually keep platies in 3-1 groups, 1 male to 3 females. Also, your female might be older and past breeding age. Just like in humans, when a female platy gets to a certain age, male platies are way less interested.
that or she's already pregnant or he is afraid of her and she lets him know that she's not interested. As a rule you should keep 3 females to every male, so I advise getting more of them...
