My betta in my community tank looks like he has dropsy. What can I do to help him? I really don't want for him to die. He is my favorite fish. He isn't really swimming much anymore because of whatever he has. I read a website that said I need to isolate him. How would I go about doing this? I have a 1 gallon tank but the tank he is in right now is 78 degrees. Could he handle that much of a change? Would I just adapt him to that temp. by letting the bag float in the 1 gallon? Should I use water from the same tank? Any suggestions? His scales are kind of poked out. I really need help. Thanks in advance!

I've never had a fish get it so far but from what I know it is almost always fatal. I'd get him out of that tank quickly just in case is can be spread. (I don't think it can but better safe than sorry)

Mr. Betta died earlier today. I guess it was just his time to go. This is the part I hate about keeping an aquarium. Well, I hope the rest of my fish stay healthy.
