Could that be a stunted one? I know with discus you can tell if the fish are stunted if the eyes are big in proportion to the body.......kinda looks like it has big eyes..

Im still stick with the Electric Blue :D

The dorsal fin is shaped like an Electric blue's......kinda it is getting that shape. Compare it with a normal everday Mbuna.

I don't doubt that your S.fryeri has got great color at a young age...the "cherries" from any clutch will look good at the smallest sizes.
I've also seen way too many batches of fish doesed with hormones to get their color out...I think its a shame.

I had the same problem identifying my electric blue - the eyes were big for the body, and it has a distinct "pike" shape to it (it's just under 2 inches - yet fully coloured). Aggressive in nature, it chases the mbuna about, then they switch around and chase the lecky. Should get to 6 or 7 inches. Also the only fish that ever 'flared" at me when i peered at it - lol
