it is a very nice home for them, especially if it is large enough for them to hide under. It makes them feel very safe. and sucking on wood is better then sucking on rocks and glass anyday.
Thanks for the advice. I'll probably get both this weekend. Brown algea is starting to form on my aqu. glass and I've heard the rubber lip pleco does a great job at controlling it without getting too big. What is their maximum size (rubber lip pleco)? Thanks.
About 5". I'm debating about whether to get a rubber lipped pleco or some otto's for my 29g. They only thing I didn't know was if they ate brown algae or not, but now I know.
For some plecos, such as the clown pleco, driftwood is a mandatory part of their diet. Research your species of pleco on CatfishPlanet.com, and it should be able to give you your pleco's dietary requirements.
