just wondering if any or all plecos eat diatoms. in my 55 gal mbuna tank i have a diatom problem and was thinking about getting a pleco to eat the diatoms. but just making sure they do before i do out and get one. and if they don't is there any other type of bottom feeder that will and can with stand living in a mbuna tank.

Actually a vast majority of plecos are meat eaters and will not touch diatoms, but the herbivors of the species like BNs will do a good job of it. Just make sure he has a place to hide so the africans can't pick on him. He will come out at night and clean the tank.
