Alright, so I'm spinning in circles trying to decide on a pleco for my soon-to-exist 29 or 36 gallon tank. Here's what's on the list:

Bristlenose (maybe albino)
Rubberlip
Clown
Queen Arabesque
And any others I'm leaving out that would work well in a tank that size...

Now, in each of your opinions, which should I choose (or which should I not choose) and why?

Thanks! :D

I have the first three, but not the fourth. Here are my comments:

Bristlenose: great algae eater, friendly, out often
Rubberlip: good algae eater, cute, a little cranky sometimes with other fish, out often
Clown: doesn't eat algae, very cute, hides almost all the time, territorial in its own little way

I like all of them, though.

Humm, I've been suspecting my mom's clown might not be a clown, but alot of them look so much alike. He will eat any algae other than the harder stuff on the back of the tank. Had a piece of lava rock when we got him that nearly looked like a moss ball and he cleaned it in 2 nights. I'll try to get a good pic when we move hom to the 70gal.

Bristlenose: Love mine :) I find them to be really friendly, he's a sweetheart. Cleans a bit too, but not very much. It's a big tank to keep up after anyways!
Rubberlip: Cleans more than any of my other Plecs, pretty friendly. He doesn't like Cory Cats, and spends his days chasing them.
Clown: Never had one
Queen Arabesque: Very shy, doesn't eat algae or move much. If you have a cave/hiding spot/dark area, it'll find it and stay there. Beautiful beyond compare though ;)

I'd personally go with the Rubberlip or the Bristlenose. Appearance wise, I think the Rubberlip just looks like a mini-BN, but who can resist those cute lil-bristles? :)

I was in my LFS yesterday and they had some tiny (like under a half inch) plecos they called something like "Red Dwarf Plecos" - though there may have been another modifier.

They were rusty red in color with patches of dark brown - anyone know anything more about these, or am I not describing them well enough?

Seeing as you are in Chicago I would bet dollars to donuts that you found someones spawn of calico BNs. They even come in a long fin verity. There seems to be rather large amount of people breeding these in your area.

Tis where I got mine from. :D
