Need Pleco HELP!!!

I have a question, and hopefully someone can answer it...I am very new too this, I have had 1 20 gallon tank up and running for about a month, and I have a 7 gallon that's been running for 3 days...each tank has a small pleco, and although they are active and love to "race" up and down the glass, I have put zuccinni (is that spelled right?!?!?) and cucumber in the tanks and the plecs don't seem to touch them. My platys, guppies and tiger barbs pick away at them though. I am giving them each an alge wafer about every 2-3 days and those are disappearing..but am I doing something wrong?? I'm putting in fresh veggies in the glass suctioned veggie clip??? Should I be worried???

Geez, your pleco is very active. Mine really just hangs out inside the caves in the tank. Well, I don't think you should be worried about your pleco eating the veggies. I throw (not literally, of course) in an algae wafer every so often and really nothing else. He eats the tropical fish food (actually, I think my pleco is odd...he loves the fish food and goes after it faster than the fish) and any algae he comes across in the tank. Maybe plecos just have certain preferences and the ones you have just don't like the veggies. I dunno. But here's the URL to a page with a lot of info on plecos:

Thanks Sheepdog. I'm still fairly new to this, so I was afraid the pleco's would starve to death. I mean my fish eat everything in sight, but I have yet to see my plec's eat.
Yeah I have to rubber-lipped/bulldog pleco's, 1 large and 1 small. They start on the ground, race up to the top together, hit the waterline and then slide back down, when they hit the bottom, they let out all these air bubbles & then do it again, it is SOOO funny to watch. They don't do it very often and only when the tank lights have been out for a while and they think no-one's watching them hehehehe!! ;P

My common seems to like the zucchini boiled. I actually will cut up a whole zuccchini into slices, parboil for 4 mins or so, let them dry a bit and then freeze it. This way the vegie doesn't spoil in the fridge. When you want one, just remove, pop in the tank. I place it in the tank on a rock with a rubber band. My turtle also eats zucc and broccoli so that's why the above effort is worthwhile to me. Just an idea.

Thanks dana307, I'll try that. I'm still learning this, I have only had 1 tank running for about a month and the other one for about a week, so...any advice I can get is greatly appreciated!!
