I bought two convict cichilid a small female convict and a big male convict.they're are both above 1 inch.The big male convict starts chaseing the female and starts nipping.They are in a 20 gallon becuase i heard you can keep a mated pair.pls reply fast.

For that many your really need no less then a 40-50 gallon. They each need to stake out there on territory and there is not going to be enough room in a 20G for all of them to have there own space. A true mated pair might be able to make it in a 30G but that is still small IMO.
