I dont know if this article will relate under obituary but i gues this fish end up dead after a while. So In memories of those fish ending up in this kind of Fish store. I went to a Fishstore in china town. and this is what i saw. I took a couple of picture and soon got kicked out after the owner see me taking picture. apparently he doesnt know how to speak english so it took me a while to understand what he was saying.

people in china keep a lot of fish and usually they are huge tanks. You can tell cause everytime you walk into a chinese restaurant you see these huge fish tanks for display and they think it helps out with feng shui and brings them better luck and stuff. And the most popular ones are red ones (parrot fish), gold ones (koi and goldfish), and silver (arrowanas) just like the ones in your pictures cause they are all lucky colors (lack of better term) so i wouldn't say its like killing them all... and plus why would the fish store buy so many if they knew they would all die? but i have to agree with you that they are a tad bit over stocked :D

lets say it takes a week to sell all of them? but dont u think its kinda over crowded just for the koi? i mean looks like they cant even move. ive seen them putting fish in another tank. they put the fish first then add water slowly just so the tank wont spill. i mean. dont u think some fish get crushed to death or something? and how do they feed over crowded tank like that? fish at the bottom cant even reach the top.
