i have a friend who is very interested in getting a porcupine puffer, he doesn't care if thats the only fish in the tank.

what is the smallest size tank the porcupine puffer would be happy in?

also, would this fish get too lonely to be in a tank by himself?...if yes, then what kind of fish would be good company for it?

i don't really know anything about marine tanks, could you also give me pointers on how to set up a tank for this fish, and the initial equipment id need to get.

thank you so much for any advice!

I would recommend at least a 100 gallon tank.

Good tank mates are trigger fish, and even some little damsels.

For equipment i would get a good wet/dry filter with an in sump protein skimmer, and perhaps a dual 96 watt Power compact light set up.

Living In CA i would recommend setting it up with mix-in salt than do routine water changes with Catalina water, available from any fish store dealing with salt water.
