Hi all, i've got my friend's 3gal (12litre) tank at the moment and she's had lots of fish die in it so i've bleached it and am now doing daily 100% water changes adding water ager.

My question is, how long do i have to do this for? I've just completed it for a week and i'm smelling it but i don't want to risk it unnecessarily. Anyone done this before?

Well if you added bleach... Basically you just have high chlorine in that tank. Why don't you just add a lot of dechlorinator?

Get yourself a chlorine test kit to make sure you've dechlorinated sufficiently...

ahh...a chlorine test kit sounds good, don't know if they available here, will have to look.

prhelp: the tank isn't "set up" per se, it is just filled with water. the water ager reduces the chlorine content of the bleach that WAS in there and needs to be replaced daily to be most effective.

AndyL: what's the advantage using a dechlorinator over water ager?
