did you check out whats left of the custom sealife stock at bigal's?
i think that some of the csl fixtures are very comparable in quality and price to ahsupply.the difference is you don't have to build the hood yourself.i boughty my 72"smartlite hood for $196 i think?i came with 2 8800k 96watt bulbs.if you find thats not an option for you i would choose jbj over all the others.the aga,coralife and jebos have very low profiles leaving no room for an effective reflector.i haven't heard of currernt usa so i cant comment on them.

Do you mean just the hood, or are you looking for a lighting setup?

Hood = lights + housing
I liked both the JBJ Formosa DX JG3 and the Current USA 48" Orbit model. What I liked about the Orbit is that it has the lunar lights...that might be a nice touch.
I'm also going the DIY route with another tank. I will be picking up some fixtures at ahsupply very soon.
I do have one question about the hoods. They are all about 9" wide or so. The 75g tank is 18" wide. Do the reflectors reflect enought light to the front and back edges of the tank?
