Power head suction cup

I just moved my powerhead to a new side on the tank and it's not sticking. First location, it stuck great, never fell loose. But now it won't stay stuck for even an hour. I've cleaned the side of algae and checked the suction cup for detritus.

I've twisty-tied the cord to the stand to keep it secure, but I'd like the suction cup to start to work. Anyone have any ideas or have had this problem before?

yup i had my xenia sucked into one powerhead due.. to that.
Those new Aquaclear sucks compared to the old ones.
I had some spare cups so now it works. Probably defect ones, like they were not really round, pierced or just cut.

I may just remove the suction cup attachment altogether. The twisty tie is working well.
