powerheads submersible?

is a hagen powerhead submersible? i keep reading the instructions but it says nothing about it being submersible--i want to add a current behind my live rock to keep detritus and other stuff from building up behind there...

don't hold me responsible if ya get shocked but i do belive all powerheads are submersible.would kinda defeat the purpose if they wern't.i have seen hagens submered all the time.but when in doubt call them and ask

It better be. I have had one submerged for several months now. I also have 2 Maxi-Jets and an Otto powerhead that have been submerged and running for about 10 years!

Most (if not all) powerheads are designed to be used under water. I'm pretty sure that the instructions that come with them say to only use them submerged.

Yep, Hagens run underwater just fine (they can just be a bit of a pain to get mounted down there).

yea if you run them out of the water they have the habit to over heat and burn out, since sitting in the water helps keep them cool
