Prefilter sponges

whats a nice sponge that i can use on my MJ power head to clear out some cloudy water?

i already did a good water change. but didnt really make much of a difference.

i used a sponge that was for a AC power filter but the holes were just too big for the tiny particals...

im also planing to use it for maybe an hour or so nothing long term.

whys the water cloudy in the first place???

most likely from the cheato.

but also the sand. the surface has settled but the bottom still has some stuff which gets blown around sometimes.

and theres the waste...

i did a good water change still nothing.

can i use 100% pure cotton?

or that polyfiber?
