pregnant cherry barb

I have a female that is VERY pregnant, I was wondering how long until she has the babies because I want to buy some java moss so the fry dont get eaten. I do not have another tank to put them in. Any info would be helpful

you need a male cherry barb around to have actually babies...she'll have eggs on her own. get the java moss, but they'll get eaten unless you remove them to a separate container. try a breeder box...

I have males too. How do I move them to a container?

once you get fertilized eggs in the moss, place the eggs/with a bit of moss into the breeder box.

where could I buy moss online that would be reliable? I checked with my LFS, petco, and petsmart and none have it...

petco should...it would be in their plant tanks...
online it would tank time to get to you...but you can try aquatic magic. great site for moss.

petco only has micro sword... I didnt know if that would work since its not really a moss more a grass.

doesn't really matter. if you miss the eggs this time around, healthy cherry barbs will soon breed again. they do it continuously
