Pregnant Platies

So I'm 80% sure I have two pregnant platies. There is plenty of cover for the fry when born, however, I just noticed this yesterday and this is the first time I have ever had a pregnant fish. (The tank is in my office on my desk.)

How long before I can expect to be a new fish mommy? How many fry can I expect?

Since they drop fry every month to six weeks, you'll see some fry within a few weeks at the most. Look for the belly to get larger and when it takes on a slightly boxy shape it's close to show time. You might also be able to spot some dark fry eyes in her belly as well.
