Hi, I have a coralife light strip that I'm having problems with. Basically, when the light is switched on the light turns off and on periodically, and seems to be getting worse as time goes on. The light strip was plugged into a timer, but I've removed the timer and just have the light plugged directly in the outlet and I'm still having the same problem with the light going on and off. Does anyone know what this problem is and if so, if it's something that I can fix? Or do I have to buy a new light strip? Thanks

How old are the lamps in the fixture? Are the tubes blackened at the ends, indicating they are worn-out? Do they glow at the ends when they're not lighting up? If any/all of those are true, the lamps are shot and need to be replaced.

also is it a t5 or t8? t5 tend to flicker when new and as they go bad they tend to flicker before going bad. if the bulbs are old i suggest buying some new bulbs. i've been experimenting with different lights and coralife tend to be the most reliable. thats what i got om my 55 and one of my 30's. my other 30 has a marineland LED and it's starting to act all funky after a year and my 20 has a zoomed t5ho and it's been solid so far but it's only 8 months old. time will tell. but my guess is that it is just old or bad bulbs.
