I just got an Emp 280 and it's now set up and running on the lowest flow setting. My problem is that when I push the flow adjuster down (to increase the flow rate), the water level in the media basket begins to drow and the pump makes loud vibrating and gurgling noise like when I first primed the pump. The gray adjuster I am pushing increases the flow of the spray bar, but it must not increase the flow of the main intake pump, this would explain why the water level drops. Is there an adjuster for the main pump? How can I turn up the flow rate with out the water level dropping and without the noise? Thanks.

I also have the same problem with mine, and I have read that quite a few people do. I dont really know what to tell you, maybe just keep trying it.... By the way, when the flow adjuster is all the way up, thats on full flow, not the lowest (I think).....

ummm... when you push the grey adjuster down you are restricting the flow. pull it up all the way to maximize flow.

My emperor 280 sometimes gurgles a bit too when it restarts. it usually takes a day or 2 to get back to full flow. seems to trap air for a little longer than the larger one (emperor 400).

Ok sure, thanks. It just seemed that flow inceased out the spray bar when I pushed the gray lever down, but yeah I see I was wrong. Thanks for the help, seems to be getting better. :)
