I have a problem with a new catfish i got. Im not sure what kind he is and all i know it starts with a P and isnt on the Freshwater profile. He is excessivly hyper and goes from the bottom of the tank to the top along the glass. He scares all my other fish into the corner. I was thinking of putting him in my brothers 55g tank. The only thing in there is a Kenyi chiclid. I know there aggresive but all he does is stay in one corner of the tank and I doubt the cat would be bothered. Suggestions welcomed?

Port hoplo maybe? They swim up to the top and along the glass...and they're spotted.

Is it catfish shaped? How big is it?

How long have you had it? Maybe the other fish just need to get used to it...

I think it is a Pictus, anyway I put it in my brother's 55gal with the Cichlid. Anyway are there anycatfish beside that one, plecos, and cories. All my plecos and cories die. Is a Hi-fin Bull shark ok?

The red-tailed shark may not like any other bottom dwellers...they can get pretty territorial. You might be able to check out either the fish profiles here or planetcatfish.com

i dunno about the bull shark but if u can find one a bumblebee catfish is good, ive seen 2 in my life and i bought the first one i saw, they r as far away from being spazy as possible, in fact u never seen them unless u get them to find a hiding spot tht u can see them at. They are active at night but thye do have a nice amount of color which is appealing, like i said, if u can see him/her.

Don't get a high-fin bull shark. I believe they are also called columbian sharks, but they need brackish water and get to 8-10 inches, and you also need atleast three of them. So unless you have a tank atleast 75 gallons, and can turn it into a brackish tank, and can get three of them, don't get them. Believe me, I know from experience.

If you can find one, get a hoplo catfish. They are active, but not spazzy. They aren't aggressive at all, and they really just ignore other fish. They do a great job cleaning the tank bottom. Mine is around 4 inches, and they only get to about 5 inches.

The only problem might be your red tailed shark...the hoplo won't defend himself if the shark is mean.

Its actually a rainbow tailed shark, and his pretty good. Dosn't chase anything except the barbs and thats pretty rare. I have a rock formation thing and just stays in there and eats of the bottom most of the time. If I see a hoplo Ill defiantly get one.
