Well I'm starting a new sw tank, I've a lot of experience with freshwater but I never had sw before. I was wondering if for an small tank 10-15 gal I need a protein skimmer?

Another question, for the salt do I need the specific salt that the sell for sw aquariums or can I use the "aquarium salt", what is cheaper?

I also went to the pet store and there are like a million chemicals for SW, Do I need all of that?

Thanks

On a 10-15 gallon tank a protein skimmer wont be needed.

Yes you do need the specific salt for marine aquariums. It has vitamns and trace elements found in natural salt water, the "aquarium salt" that your talking about (if im thinking correctly) is just for medical uses for fresh tanks and not marine.

No you dont need all the chemicals you see in the store. I dont dose anything in my tank, all of it will be in the salt mix (like i said earlier) you use, since it shouldnt be too complicated of a system, the salt should supply all your needed elements and such
