puffer fish sick !

my sister just bought a figure eight puffer about 3 weeks ago. hes been doing fine and then 2 days ago, one of his fins are solid white and barley hanging on and he has a white haze over one of his eyes. It dosnt look like a parasite, or fin rot, or even fungus really. Im not certain what the disease is, therefor i cant treat it. If anyone can tell me what this might be i would greatly appriciate it. He looks to be swimming fine though. Thank You very much.

does sh ehave him in brackish water? I don't know if that would cause these symptoms but certainly it woudl lead to health problems. Otherwise I would say ich too- what are the water conditions in the tank?

Are there other fish in the tank? It sounds like it could be an injury. If that's the case, a little Melafix should help.

its fungus, its all over the side of his face and front portion of his body. have him in a quar. tank for almost a week now. treated him with maycrn? and another fungus medicine. it didnt even touch it. did the salt dip before treating with the meds. anyone have any other suggestions about a good fungus fighting medicine that might be worth a try. I think melafix will be my next resort. thank you very much for your comments.

Little puffdaddy didnt make it. we really tried everything in our power to save the little fellow, but he just couldnt hang on. Goodbye our little puffdaddy, sleep with the fisheys.
