Puffer fish

I am just curious, I know that puffers are fish that have to be alone, so do you think putting one in a fish bowl would be ok?

No, they actually need a larger tank and more filtration than most community fish of their size. I would say a minimum of a 5 gallon tank for a dwarf puffer. Other puffers will need a considerably larger tank.

if you were sure to watch params, and were very csreful you MIGHT be able to do 2 in a 5 gallon. they would both have to probably be females though. also puffs are sensetive.

I'd go at least ten gallons with a good HOB filter with no more than four puffers.

Interesting thanks. It was just a thought, not that i am going to get one. I just find the dwarf puffers sooooo cute and would like one one day. They go in community tanks right? Then would they go with guppies or are they nippers.

They're not really recommended for community tanks. I've heard of people keeping them with other fish, but according to most sources this is a bad idea.

I know I just read that they are very agressive. But if I start my fish tank over again I definately want one or two but with what fish I am not sure lol cause they can attack bigger fish than them as well. Yikes I guess thats leaves out my neon tetra idea with the puffers lol. The tetras would be a bite size snack for them LOL

the little cards say stuff like that all the time. never believe that stuff. this fish REQUIRES aquarium salt... this fish is a community fish... this fish only grows 10 inches... PER YEAR!!! the point is... look at a fish you like and do your own research... just like you did! good job!

I WANT A CUTE LIL DWARF PUFFER!!!...lol...sorry just wanted to express myself a little bit...why are these fishies soo darn cute...i call them lil helicopters...haha! for reals though...i can't wait to get one..the fishy, not the helicopter, lol. so for sure though- dp's are freshwater all the way?? i just want to double check that ya know. what else can u dp lucky owners tell us about them?? hmmm?? tell me more...tell me more!
