quarantine tank setup question

I am setting up a 20 gallon tank for a quarentine tank and I'm wondering when it is fully cycled what should I keep in it? I don't want to keep any good fish in there because if some fish in my big tank get sick then I have to put sick fish in with healthy fish. I'm just looking for any ideas or suggestions?

I want to set up a quarantine tank too but I don't want to keep it running after the quarantine period is over.

I'm thinking about running an extra sponge or corner filter in my main tank. Whenever I need to quarantine or cure something, I just put that extra filter in a new tank. Will that work?

Yes, but when you are done treating in your quarantine/hospital tank, I would sterilize that filter before you put it back in the main tank, so you don't transfer diseases back and forth etc.
