Quaruntine Tank setup...

I was wondering type of quaruntine tank setups that everyone had or would suggest. I know that a lot of medications say to remove carbon from filters, how is this issue addressed in the setup process? How do you keep the right amount of nitri-bacter so as not to have a mini-cycle when adding a fish? Thanks.

i have a 10g with a HOB filter in it. i don't usually have this tank set up and running simply because I do not buy stock all that often, but when i plan to buy something i save my water change water and put it in the QT tank with a filter pad which i leave floating in my sump as well as a couple pieces of LR. I give it a week or so to run then remove the LR and add whatever i plan to QT
