Question about ahsupply lights...

I have a 2x55 watt kit and a 1x 55 watt kit and my question is if its to much light can i put 36 watt bulbs in their place?

my reasoning, the suggested sizes of balasts are the same at www.fulham.com
and the cords will be able to handle the less power, and the refletors will be like 5" to long but thats okay.

so anybody see any problems? (crosses fingers and hopes reasoning is sound )

i *think that would be fine, kind of like using 60watt light bulbs in your kitched when the "thingy" says up to 100watt bulbs may be used.....which i do to save electricity.

ditto. You can swap the bulbs out. the ONLY problem will be that you now have an additional 5" of uneven lighting. This may or may not be a problem. For example, may people try and light 30" 20L tanks with a 55watt PC. Those PC's are only 21" of bulb...so the corners of the tanks are a bit dim...especially for tall plants
