Question about Fresh water Angels

A 55 gal? I would definitley not do more than a pair there. I have 2 silver dollar size angels (don't know if they will pair up or not, doesn't bother me much either way) in a 38 gal right now and once we build our boa a new enclosure, the angels along with the rest of the fish in the 38 will be inheriting the 75 gal.
Not only do these guys get to be fairly large fish, but when they pair off and are breeding they get so territorial, I think you will have major problems with more than one pair in a 55.

I kept 2 pairs in a 55 successfully, but had to remove one when its mate died and the other two took over the tank. Angels are quite sociable fish and do like to be with their own kind but I'm not sure 6 in a 55 is a good idea. In my experience 4 would work fine.
If you have lots of decorations and plant your tank heavily, therefore giving more territory areas, you'll likely have less problems with aggression.

Until they pair off, and while they are small, six in a 55g is fine.
If you get a pair or two (or three!!) that start breeding, they will become very territorial over their breeding area especially while they have eggs there - not only to the other angels, but to pretty much everyone else in the tank. With a 55g, there's enough room for the other fish to hang out elsewhere if you only have one breeding pair - if you get more than that, you'll need to rehome one of the pairs. But there's no guarantee that breeding pairs will form, so as long as you are prepared to rehome fish if needed, go ahead and have a few small angels in there now . . . .

ok was just wondering. If that happen I would probably just keep four. 55 gal tank really is small for angels. I seen a real pretty angel the body was the size of a 50 cent peice. It was all bright white and looked like it had diamonds on it. I am going to take a picture of it and try to post it. It was beautiful.
