Hello, I am new to the forums and had a quick question about my new rainbow shark. This morning I went to feed my fish and I noticed my rainbow shark, which is normally black and red, was light brown and red. there was a small black section by his or her tail and I have never seen this before. When I got home from work he or she was back to black and red. Is this normal? I have only had it for about a week and don't know much about them. Any answers would be great. Thanks,

Ben

Had you just turned the lights on? It is possible that the rainbow shark... like many other fish, loses a bit of coloring while "sleeping/resting" and may take a while for them to color back up after the lights get turned on in the morning.

My Rummy Nose Tetras look positively ILL in the morning until they get to swimming about and color up.
