question about the algae wafers

I bought the algae wafers for the pleco but I've noticed my guppies are eating it too. Is that ok or do I need to remove the wafer? I know stupid question.

I feed them to my guppy fry. They love it. No harm, just make sure any uneaten portion is taken out of the tank.

even though some foods are brought for certain fish like algae wafers for plecos, fish will normally eat it because its jsut another source of food for them. my rummy nose tretras eat my chillid food and so on...

I just chuck the food in and it gets eaten.

feed an 1/2 an hour to an hour after lights out and your other fish wont touch it.Theyll be fine even if they do eat it

Gups love their veggies. No worries! Juts make sure the plec gets his fair share. I would watch the parameters of this tank -- you're overstocked, especially with the plec.

Thank you guys for your replies! The guppies and fry bith enjoy the algae as well as my pleco.


My pleco is still very small. About 2 inches long. SO, right now, I don't feel I'm over stocked. But I am looking into a 55 gallon atleast due to the amount of guppy fry I have.

Commons grow very fast.You should be equally concerned about how fast that plec will grow

Thanks hun. By that time I will have the 55 + gallon so all should be fine then. I'm looking into tanks now.
