k after checking several web sites and books mix on how big they get some say 3 inches some say 4 inches some say 6 inches......which one is it? i just want to keep one whats minimum tank requirement for just 1 all sites say minimum of 30 gallons but it also includes like 2 males and 4-5 females.... and will it be happy by itself?

3-4" most likely under 3.5", minimum 75 gal, 1-2 male 12-20 females, demasoni are one of the most agressive fish in anything smaller then that the dominant one will gladly kill everyone else, also if you put other species makes sure you get other agressive one, i would suggest saulosi instead of demasoni, they can be kept in smaller tanks since they are a little more forgiving with their agression
