question on tank stands

I looked at tank stands at Petsmart over the weekend. I had gotten one there 10 years ago when I got my 29 gal. At that time, the stands had a lip around the front and sides (not in the back). I saw ONE that had it. None of the other have. The others all looked more like furniture/dressers. Petco had two, but that was it. Is this a trend now?

I really like the looks of the ones with the lips around it. It makes it look more secure and finished.

build your own, they look better and you can design it to be the way you want, it is a pretty simple thing to build as well and will cost you less than buying one from a petstore to get the "lip" you are looking for just use some baseboard or trim from a building supply store like homedepot.
