This may be a stupid question, But I was just wondering, would a serpae tetra mate with a pristella tetra

Just curious. I have both types and one of my pristellas is pregnant.

Are you sure it's pregnant and not just fat? I have a couple of them and they are cool little fish!

I thought that the two could mate however unlikely and just have infertile little babies. Ive never heard or seen of it but ive seen similar questions asked with Africans and those aggressive cichlid types.

Why wouldn't any fish be able to mate with the other kind?

Nothing preventing that......look at the Flowerhorn or the Blood Parrot.

a friend of mine's mom worked somewhere delivering babies. she swears that a child was born that had the head of a great dane, and they assumed that the father was a great dane. they euthanized the child/dog.
