Since the passing of one of my bettas, I'm left with enough stuff to run up to a 5G tank. I want another fish, but I've got so many bettas that I think I'd like to try something else. I've been hunting around online for fish profiles, but I honestly don't know what would do well as a solitary fish. I did consider getting a pair of guppies and a 5G, or a single gourami for my current 2.5G. Or what about a swordtail? Most everything I've come across likes to be in shoals, and I don't want to go bigger than 5G for cost reasons.
