I have a top-fin setup from petsmart, and everything came either stampted "Perfecto" or "Marineland" (marineland makes perfecto).

If your petsmart is like mine, they should also have some Oceanic tanks there if you want to compare the glass (Oceanic and All-glass are sister companies). I've never heard that about perfecto tanks having thinner glass, but that doesn't mean it's not true.

There still decent tanks. I had a perfecto ten gallon for many years before it sprung a leak and started bowing.

Thing is, I don't have an equally aged All-Glass to make the comparison of durability. But I was satisfied enough with my Perfecto...even if I wouldn't buy another one.

One thing I will say is that it was replaced with an All-Glass, which does seem to have noticably thicker glass and a seemingly overall more solid construction.
